Cost=none, Vps=0, Prereq=none When you play this card, if there is any Food on future Round spaces that you would later receive, you may place some or all of that Food on this card. At the end of the game, you receive 1/2/3/4/5 Bonus points for 1/2/3/5/8 Food on this card. (You may not use the Food on this card.) [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

I'm not sure how i feel about this card. This is a card that REQUIRES other cards. Are there any EIK cards that require other cards? (The one exception is that you can have no other cards and play well and then this for 2 VPs) |
Very interesting idea. This card can generate certainly generate a lot of VPs with the right combo.Oct 4, 2010 9:19am [quote] (Edit: Oct 4, 2010 9:35am) |

Village Well requires that you play the well. Punner/Yoke require plows (though not in YOUR hand). I think this is ok, since there are a wide variety of cards that put food on future round. You could include building resources too, if you wanted. | Oct 4, 2010 2:15pm [quote] |

Chris, it can generate VPs, but it also costs food. Paying 2 food for 1 VP is generally a good deal, but it's not SO great. Also remember this card is an all-or-nothing option, and it only works once. The best combo would be Manservant or Animal Pen, and neither of those seem too powerful because you're giving up all that food. | Oct 4, 2010 2:29pm [quote] |

Yea, i was just pointing out this card can generate more VPs than almost any card. I wasn't saying it was bad or good. I guess without numbers my comment looked pointless or misleading. When i read this card i just remembered a game where I had over 30 food on the board. This card would give my 15VP. But I agree that the 15VP I gained, i would have lost in actions to get Food (which in that game I didn't have to). So it wasn't 15 free VPs and it wouldn't have been busted. | Oct 4, 2010 7:32pm [quote] (Edit: Oct 4, 2010 7:34pm) |

Yeah, 15 points is pretty crazy. | Oct 4, 2010 8:12pm [quote] |

Ending up with 30 spare food is not the same as having received 30 food from the board. And you start to place the food on the board on different rounds, some of it is already received when you are able to play this card. | Oct 5, 2010 12:30am [quote] |

Round 1: Patron, 2c Round 2: Layabout, RSF Round 3: Manservant, 2w Round 4: Some Other Occupation, Reno Clay + Animal Pen Round 5: RSF, Reno Stone (Manservant triggers) + Angry Duck In that case, you have 45 food on the board which becomes 22 VPs. You have a 2 room Stone house. Maybe if you also have Farm Steward and Stone House Extension, plus other Stone House related occupations, this could work. But getting to a 2 room stone house tends to be a bad plan. Maybe this card would make it worth it? Chris, what I want to know is: do you think the card is too powerful? We could say "Max 10 VPs" or something like that. |
Here's the craziest situation I can imagine:Oct 6, 2010 3:42pm [quote] |

Round 1: Maid, 2w Round 2: Conservator, RSF Round 3: Manservant, RSF Round 4: Scholar, Food action Round 5: Reno(stone)+ Animal Pen, Fruit Tree Round 6: Scholar plays Angry Duck before you collect food. 9 rounds x 6 food =54, + 7 for Fruit tree = 61/2 = 30 bonus points. Of course, this requires being able play an occupation and RSF in round 2 and 3, which is pretty unrealistic. Nevertheless. |
Ira: your example doesn't work because you can't Reno in Round 4!Oct 6, 2010 4:23pm [quote] |
