Look at this card, its like a super WHE! | Oct 29, 2010 5:29pm [quote] |

Only its not a passing minor. So its less of a nuisance then WHE. But i agree, its very strong. The tranlation btw is correct (wasnt that hard though). |

As chris has told me, he wanted to hide those translation comments for the first few days so that you guys are not overwhelmed by the mass of comments. We havent written about quality of cards yet, except a few "wows". And yes, Caravan is pretty strong and prolly too cheap. But theme wise it is good and you can see that in a bunch of cards, that the theme was the priority for Uwe. |
there are comments on all cards that come from translation. chris posted the german text, his first translation and pijll and me doubled checked and fixed those translations.Nov 1, 2010 11:18pm [quote] |

Maybe all it needs is a slight cost bump. | Nov 3, 2010 3:11pm [quote] |

It also REALLY helps the stone room strategies. A 3 room Manservant/Caravan/Farm Steward would ROCK. This card should probably just have a -2VP or something, but let's see how it does in play testing first. |
Initial Impressions: This card jumps into the Top 10 minors in all of Agricola, probably the top 5. I think that's a good thing, though. It's certainly strong, and definitely cheap, but I think it's also the most flexible. You don't have to compete for the first room. You can work on other things, like plowing or early fences, and play this to FG, then build another room.Nov 3, 2010 3:16pm [quote] |

I saw this played in my recent game. He got the First FG and still came in last. I think that's more indicative of the player though than the card. It's definitely strong, but doesn't create a WHE-Chain. It's similar to Farm Steward I guess, but obviously easier to play. | Nov 4, 2010 2:31pm [quote] |

I can see this card working if it cost something like 2W 2S and gave a victory point, or maybe even 3W and 1S and no points. This weakens its effect in 2 player games, and causes a player to use at least 2 actions gathering resources in order to afford this card rather than simply taking 3 wood once. |
I playtested this in a 2er today (even though the game wasn't recorded...we both had to leave before it was finished). I kind of liked the whole power level bump that this deck provides. That being said, this card is WAY overpowered...even for the power level of this deck. A caravan player can sit on his or her resources, build up a food engine, and STILL be the first to family growth...all at the cost of just 3 wood. And this card is better than WHE in my opinion because it is not only significantly cheaper, but it is also not a pass minor, so only the person with the card gets the benefit. Nuts!Nov 4, 2010 7:21pm [quote] |
