It feels like the Donkey should cost something more than taking up an empty pasture, given its benefit. Perhaps 2 food, or 1 grain/vegetable? asgar777

I was thinking of making it cost 1 Grain. Certainly giving up a pasture is a cost too. I like you suggestion of 1 Grain or Vegetable. What do other people think? chris

How about having a planted grain/veggie field as long as Donkey "works" for you. Or you pay him 1f each use, because the Donkey doesn't care what food you give him. (Making him more like a Plowman, but with disadvantages.) Donkey could make up for an animal type though like Horse. tom

i don't like the idea of having to have a planted field. the whole point of the donkey is to help you plow but now you need to have a field plowed and sowed- would really weaken this card. i think having to give up a pasture is enough. having to pay 1f would be reasonable. hunter

Very nice card! Really fits within the Agricola theme.

I don't think it's overpowered, but if you do decide to add a cost of 1f per usage, I'd give the Donkey 1 vp.

It's not clear to me from card text that the donkey takes up the pasture and can never move. Is that your design intent? If so, perhaps you can add some language to that effect? ira

A pasture is a significant cost. I like it. tacticus

Does the empty space in which the donkey stays counts as a negative point at the end? braggart
