I have reservations about the fact that the choice to breed an extra animal is basically a no-brainer since any animal is easily worth more than one food, and having one extra food available at the end of harvest isn't that hard. Perhaps more importantly, in the hands of a good player this card will generally work out to mean: Pay 5 food and take 5 cattle (or maybe 4 cattle and a boar). That seems somewhat overpowered, although I don't know if the fact that its stretched out over 4 stages makes it balanced.

How I would word this card:
Park Ranger (occ-1+)
Prerequisite: 2 or more animal types
When you play Park Ranger, if you only have two animal types, you immediately receive one animal of the third type. In the breeding phase of each harvest you can pay 1 Food. If you do, you receive one more animal of a type that you bred this breeding phase.		 alweth

Adding "1 animal of" (the third type) is important and good.

The original text considering breeding is ok. You cant "breed twice" without breeding once and you need 2 animals to breed, thats a fact.

Good point. Although this card does has a prerequisite, just not in the prerequisite position.

Of course you can't breed twice without breeding once, but the question is are you getting to breed twice for 1 food or a second time for one food? Obviously the second, from a balance perspective, but it's not obvious from the wording of the card. Also, my wording tries to clarify that you can only do this once in each breeding phase. Here's wording attempt number two:

You can only play Park Ranger when you have at least 2 different animal types (sheep, boar, cattle). When you play Park Ranger, if you only have two animal types, you immediately receive one animal of the third type. Once during the breeding phase of each harvest you may pay 1 Food to breed one of your animal types a second time.

(I've made the card so you can play it even if you have all three animal types, simply because the card has a benefit beyond the one animal it gives you, so I don't see why the player should be prevented from playing it if they want to.)		 alweth
