Schafer-stundchen:
Auf dem Aktionsfeld "Startspieler" kannst du zuerst diese kleine Anschaffung ausspielen und danach, statt den Startspieler zu nehmen, einen Familienzuwachs durchfuhren. Fur diesen Familienzuwachs benotigst du Platz in der Wohnstatte.

You can play this on other action spaces too, but it doesn't have an effect.

"If you play this MI on the SP action space, ..."

Having a go with a woman (probably not your wife).

Do we don't use "shepherd hour". Is "One night stand" a correct translation? chris

I think that One night stand is a better translation, although Schaferstundchen has no negative touch to it. tom

It should be "you may take a Family growth action"
You can play this for no effect on the SP/MI action space too...

"One night stand" doesnt sound like a good translation to me, it sounds both too modern and too negative to me.

I'd prefer to keep the name Shepherd's Hour, even though I didn't know the term. It fits the theme of the game; it's much more romantic than the alternatives; many other cards have obscure renaissance names; it's good to stay as close to the German name as possible; and it will likely be illustrated with a painting called "Shepherd's Hour", with one or more shepherds on it. pijll

I was under the impression that "Shepherd's Hour" is not really a term used in the english language. Its just a word-by-word translation of the german but i thought it doesnt have a real meaning in the english.

Chris, now that you know what the card text means from our other suggestions, does Shepherd's Hour exist as an english term?

The expression has been used on a few rare occasions. Both Dryden and James Joyce have used it.

It sounds like it's a lot more common in German.

I agree that " Shepherd's hour" is not really a term in use in English.
How about using " Shepherd's tryst"? This term would keep the theme (" Shepherd") but also give the meaning of a romantic meeting or assignation (" tryst")
