It combines extremely well with Pine Forest, since if you have 1 wood you can discard it, add to your Forest, then get it back with Pilgrim. I also used it frequently to discard my remaining resource and pick up something different. It's important to use a Fireplace for food, since that gives you the most control over your food supply, allowing you to pump out start-of-round food with Pilgrim (which you can then spend freely on occs).

I now consider this to be one of my favorite G cards. It's still pretty weak, but it's a lot of fun to use.

Yea, in the last few weeks before print, Uwe made it stronger by allowing you to give away resources to the general supply.

And yes, it combines with Pine Forest in a way that no one discovered (or commented on) before publishing.
