I think it's a fine and interesting mechanism, but since we have very little experience with it as players or designers it is hard to balance. I think we should err on the side of strength with this mechanism, since the point loss is a big psychological disincentive. tacticus

You can choose to pay in reed of course, so rsf in 4er is not a weak option for you. You may also consider that you can build 3 rooms at once with taking only 1 Marker (losing 1 Point for 6 Reed).		 tom

Also, 2r for -1VP is a pretty sweet deal. But you could also combo this with axe to devastating effect.
