Cost=1W,2C, Vps=0, Prereq=none You immediately receive 1 Vegetable. Once each round, you may move 1 Vegetable from your supply onto a future Round space. If it is at least 5 rounds away, add 1 Vegetable from the general supply. At the start of that round, you must convert each of those Vegetables to 2 Food or 1 Bonus point. Neat idea. Cost is too high though. 1 Stone cost is more appropriate. | Dec 22, 2010 6:41am [quote] |

I figured 1 wood and 1 stone is better... I don't want someone to turn an early veggie farm into too many points, but i want it to be an ok card even if a player can't get an early veggie. | Dec 22, 2010 12:54pm [quote] |

I like the idea. The wording needs some work. | Dec 28, 2010 6:11am [quote] |

Also let me know if you think a different balance would work better (i.e. bonus points awarded for 2/3 harvests instead of 3/5 rounds, or a different round distribution) I'd be happy to change. |
Ok worked on the wording a little bit; let me know if you like it better. I also had to change the name to Wine Closet, since Wine Cellar is a Cz card.Jan 1, 2011 9:38pm [quote] |

When that harvest begins, return that vegetable to the general supply and take 4 food. (i assume you mean the general supply) better in line with agricola mechanics would be to immediately return the vegetable, instead place the food on the future round space (or harvest) and receive the food. notes on the card: 1. i think its too powerful. a card that can turn a vegetable to 4 food is good. if you get bonus points its even better. 2. i don't like bookkeeping. 3. conclusion from 1.+2.: remove the option to get 2 bonus points. that serves a few goals: (a) reduces text (b) reduces power (c) reduces bookkeeping one thing to keep in mind is that vegetables are mainly for VPs. basicly this card lets you eat vegetables while keeping the VP. if i use it twice (and get the compensatory 1 VP each) i gained 8 food, which is alot in my oppinion (compare to any other food giving minors). |
a note on wording:Jan 2, 2011 2:04am [quote] (Edit: Jan 2, 2011 2:05am) |

I would say though that this isn't a "have your cake and eat it too" card. For the point benefit, you will have to convert an early vegetable, making it harder to build a sustainable vegetable farm. Secondly, the food benefit will be clumped in the later rounds, which is usually when you have an already developed food engine. All in all, I'd say its not much stronger than a card like Schnapps Distillery, except with more planning involved. |
Good points. I fixed the wording and I weakened the card so that the 2 VP benefit doesn't exist.Jan 5, 2011 12:18am [quote] |

I'm not sure what the 2 bonus point version was like, but I think the current version is very far from overpowered. This is a very narrow and very fiddly card. | Jan 6, 2011 8:02am [quote] (Edit: Jan 6, 2011 8:02am) |

just wood is fine. |
I'd get rid of the stone cost--Jan 6, 2011 8:31pm [quote] (Edit: Jan 6, 2011 8:31pm) |

Quote from: jamaicanworm on Jan 6, 2011 8:31pm I'd get rid of the stone cost-- just wood is fine. Yea, that would make it more playable. With the 1VP and the chance to get more VPs, i would go with a 2 Wood cost. |
