My back-of-the-envelope calculations show that this will turn a resource at 54% the first time.
Feels a bit underpowered since it only triggers on fishing. Perhaps it could also trigger on SP or some other.

You shoud never trigger good things on SP.

As it is, the occupations is very very weak. By triggering on more than one space it would become stronger, but it will add even more time to the game.

can someone run stats on this and see what it would be expected to pay out based on what round it was played? hunter

I had real bad luck with this card. Failed something like six or seven tries in a row. I was going every turn because I combined it with another fishing card but the dice were against me. ken

i don't like veterinarian, and i don't like this card either. anything based on such much luck shouldn't be in agricola in my oppinion.

i've never been good at statistics, but chances to get with first draw are about
wood (5/14*4/13) 11.0 %
clay (4/14*3/13) 6.6 %
reed (3/14+2/13) 3.3 %
stone (2/14*1/13) 1.1 %
total 22 %

chances with 2nd draw are about 20 % higher for each good that has not been drawn in the first draw (eg wood 11 % increases by a factor 1.2 to about 13 %) and lower (how much depends on what it was) for the good that has not been drawn in first draw. this continues about the same way.

that means if you're lucky to get stone in first draw, you have an even higher chance to draw something in 2nd draw (about 23 % total). this can even increase to over 25 % for the 3rd draw if you get a reed and stone with draws 1+2.

every time you get a wood (the worst case in terms of future chances) your total chance to get something is reduced by about 1 % for the next draw (if you draw wood in 1st draw you only have about 20.5 % chance to get something in 2nd draw).

the conclusion is, every time you draw you have a chance of about 20 % to get something. if you take fishing 5 times you have an average return of about 1 resource.

the further conclusion is, this is much much too weak. put only 5w and 5c (or 5 of any other two resoruces) in the container and you have an acceptable return chance. or allow to draw every round instead of on fishing only (though i would still never play this card and remove it from our games).
