When you play this card, you receive 1 Vegetable. For each Vegetable that you convert into Food, you can place 1 Clay from your personal supply on this card. At the end of the game, you receive 1 Bonus point for each Clay on this card, up to a maximum of 5 points. [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

A bonus point card for veggie food engines. Uses same idea as Tanner/Brushmaker/Basin Maker. You pay clay to make the jars in which you preserve the jam. Is the upper limit for points needed or is the clay cost enough? | May 26, 2011 11:30am [quote] |

Anyone got any thoughts? Too weak? Too strong? | May 29, 2011 8:45am [quote] |

Compare to Clay Path: 3c for 3points. This card also gives bonus points at the rate of 1pt per 1c, trading flexibility on your clay payment schedule+amount for the requirement of burning vegetables. I think it is neither overpowered nor underpowered, and nicely supplements cards like Carrot Farmer. | May 29, 2011 9:03am [quote] |

Compared to Clay Path, i'd say this card is very weak. Maybe add, "When you play this card, you receive 3 Clay." or "When you play this card, you receive 1 Vegetable." | May 29, 2011 10:02am [quote] |

Oh, my comment assumed this was a minor, not an occupation. I agree then, as an occupation, this is very weak. | May 29, 2011 12:40pm [quote] |

It encourages actually eating vegetables rather than use them as efficient point builders. | May 29, 2011 1:05pm [quote] |

Quote from: chriss on May 29, 2011 1:05pm It encourages actually eating vegetables rather than use them as efficient point builders. I disagree. I think the best use of this card points-wise would be to try to produce 9 veggies, and then drop this, pay 5 clay, not have to feed in the final harvest, and then get max points for both. In reality, this will probably be somewhere in the middle for use. In practice, this card is pretty much like a weaker Glassblower. You're basically converting 1 clay to 3 food, but you need Cooking Hearth in order to use it. You can convert whenever you want, but you need to have a vegetable in your supply to do it. |

Zug had some nice use of this with his Storyteller Clown CH Spices combo. He grabbed 4c late and dropped this. | May 29, 2011 2:35pm [quote] |
