The bastard child of Ruins and Tree House!

Is 10 food in 5 rounds for 5 stones and ~1 room enough? 15 food seemed very undoable.
Any ideas for prereqs? This concept doesn't really like a resource cost.

Alternate name: Bat-cave

i like the idea, but it seems overpowered. i agree 3f/s sounds too much.

as it is now, i could play this in round 1 and take DL every round to have 5 stones and a room in round 5. if i would build a regular room i would need about 4 actions (w, w, r, build room) that are harder to get and i have 5 stones less.

adding a 2 occs prereq would prevent this (i suggest this if you don't want resource costs). or some resource cost - i don't think wood and/or clay cost would be so awful and you could balance it by adding a VP. or you could make a 1 improvement requirement. those are rarely used.

I agree with letsdance on the cost: Wood or clay shouldn't be bad as you would need this to make tools to excavate and light a cave. A second option would be to give it a Food cost upfront, maybe 3 food. That way you are basically paying 2.5 food per stone + room, and playing this card round 1 would basically mean sacrificing everything except food gathering actions. slim

Trying new prereq: 1 occ + 1 imp. If this doesn't work, 2 wood/clay should do.

PS: Another idea would be, instead of the 'pay 2 food to receive 1 stone', to make it a public 'Take exactly 1 stone' action space (keeping the 'hold a family member' bit)

People very rarely take 1 stone with an action, and definitely won't take it if it helps you at all. slim

It's way too strong. I am not worried about taking DL 5 times, but of a very strong early food engine and normal playing, and, at the same time, making this a room. Like:
R1: Corn profiteer, 2w
R2: Occ (vegetarian, pilgrim, astronomer, seed seller), this card. Possibly buy first stone.
R3: SP Grain cart, grain, sell grain, start buying stone every round
R6-7: you have 5s and a room, established food engine and possibly a room already. Well situated to buy the well or other majors. (You win)

Or:
R1: Dancer, 4f
R2: Magician, this card, buy first stone
R3: Anything, then take 5f+1g, buy stone
R6: You win.

Or, in another scenario, you can use it as the second room, after establishing a solid food engine in stage 1 (stone cards+stone carver or quarrier, R1 sheep grab etc)

But if you have a "very strong" food engine in stage 1, you should win already, regardless of this card.
What can I say? If you can feed your family and generate 10 extra food in the early game, here's your reward.
