Cost=1W,1R, Vps=1, Prereq=2 Occupations Whenever you harvest at least 2 goods during the Field phase of a Harvest, you may immediately afterward pay 2 Food to play an Occupation. [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

very similar to the G2 occupation that lets you play an occ each harvest (graduate?). | Jun 1, 2011 3:17am [quote] |

"when you harvest 2/3/4+ goods, you may play an occupation by paying 2 food/1 food/for free" would be a nice twist to this, while distancing itself from the occ letsdance said. | Jun 1, 2011 3:23am [quote] |

What do you think about this change? I don't like senseless alternative card text. |
Maybe the costs should be changed to 1f (That was my original idea but I thought that would be too strong).Jun 3, 2011 3:12am [quote] |

Preconditions: 1 field or 1 animal |
What do you think about that: "Whenever you harvest at least two ressources or breed 1 animal you may pay 2f to play an occupation."Jun 3, 2011 3:15am [quote] |

Compare with Bountiful Harvest play testing: http://play-agricola.com/Agricola/Cards/index.php?id=1744 Most people score 2-3VPs with this G Deck Minor. That means, most people will be able to play 2-3 Occupations in Harvests 4,5,6 with Farmers' School. That makes this a very helpful and useful card. Also if you're harvesting those resources, you probably have a good food engine so the 2 Food cost is also just the right price. |
I think it is good just like it is (prereq: 1 field, cost 1W1R, Whenever you harvest at least two ressources you may pay 2f to play an occupation.)Jun 3, 2011 11:22am [quote] |

Keep in mind, this card is strong. An Occupation costs 1 Food to play anyway. So this card says, "Whenever you harvest at least 2 resources, you may pay 1 Food to take an action without placing a person." Therefore if you get 3 uses out of this, you pay half action (to play minor), 3 extra Food (over normal 1 food cost), 1W, 1R for 1VP and 3 actions. Therefore it gives a net of about 1 free action. What is appropriate for a Minor? At 2 uses it only gives net of 1/3 action. At 4 uses 1+2/3 action. Remember, G2 Graduate was one of our strongest G2 Occupations. Although it was pay 1 Food each Harvest first until we changed it to 2 Food. Unfortunately, there isn't enough new play testing on Graduate to know how much the power reduced. If we were to publish this, I wonder if it would be safer to write: "Whenever you harvest at least two resources during the Field phase of a Harvest, you may pay 2 Food to play an Occupation." and perhaps we should consider increasing the cost to 2W1R or removing the VP (not sure if this is needed). Isch, in preparation of this possibility. You should email me your real name and send me a photo of yourself ASAP. My email address is cdeotte@ucsd.edu That way i will have them if i need them. If we publish this card, i would put your photo on any G2 occ of your choice. I think you have expressed an interest in Hala's Hill Farmer. He is OK with that. |
I'm curious, how strong do people think this current version is? I ask because we will need another G2 Minor Improvement if we convert Debris to an Occ. The next one in line is my G2x- Cookies. But, i am considering putting this one in.Jun 3, 2011 11:43am [quote] |

i don't think this has any serious balancing problems. and i would keep as it is (no anti-combo clause and no increasing costs). of course it would be better to test it. it might turn out rather weak. | Jun 3, 2011 4:30pm [quote] |

It's really hard to set up a 2-resource harvest, and even if you do, 2f for an occ is costly. This is just a much worse version of Graduate (G2). |
I think it's very, very week.Jun 3, 2011 4:33pm [quote] |
