Cost=none, Vps=0, Prereq=1 Occupation When you Sow, you may Sow on this card as if it were 1 field. Whenever you harvest goods from this card during the Field phase of a Harvest, you must exchange these harvested goods for 1 Bonus point each. [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

The 3 fields prerequisite seems nice at first glance, but it's a bit redundant. Unless you have multiple regular fields, there isn't much point playing this card. |
I like the basic idea, though it might need some refinement.Jun 4, 2011 12:28pm [quote] |

So, 1 grain, a sow action...for 3 bonus points? Get two sows and your up to 4 or 5 points? Not too bad. | Jun 4, 2011 3:13pm [quote] |

If someone wants to play this in Stage 1, take 1 Grain and then Sow it for 3VPs, let them. That same person could have Plowed 2 field for 3VPs instead of using 2 action to take 1 Grain and Sow it. The best use of this card is to have other plowed fields and have lots of grain and then take a Sow action. They will Sow 1+ Grain on their Plowed fields and simultaneously Sow one on this card. I think without the prereq, this card is very well balanced. This card can only give a maximum of 6VPs. But, to get the most VPs from this card and not waste actions, you need to have other plowed fields and lots of grain early which is hard to do and should be rewarded. Of course like many cards, this is strong with Field Watchman. |

Do goods planted on this card still score (as grain or vegetables, as appropriate) at the end of the game? Can the Harvest Helper help himself to grain on this card? More generally, I guess, to what extent do the planted goods retain their identity as grain/vegetable prior to harvest? |
I like this a lot.Jun 5, 2011 11:12am [quote] |

As to the second, if player A owns this card and player B owns Harvest Helper and chooses to harvest this field, I would say Yes since the player who harvests (player B) in that scenario is not the player who has this card (player A). Therefore, it does not trigger this card. Open for different opinions, of course. |
Yes, unharvested goods still score at the end of the game. Until harvested, there is no difference between goods on this field and other field. I think this may answer your third question, too.Jun 5, 2011 4:50pm [quote] (Edit: Jun 5, 2011 5:21pm) |

that makes sense. | Jun 5, 2011 4:59pm [quote] |

i think this can be too many VP for a free minor, especially in combos that let you harvest quicker. it should either be harder to play (give it a prereq again) or have a cost. | Jun 6, 2011 7:13am [quote] |

I think it's a card that can only be used occasionally, so it's not too strong. | Jun 6, 2011 7:14am [quote] |
