What does "Genever" mean? | Jun 23, 2011 6:20pm [quote] |

It's similar to Gin. So it would better be a distillery. | Jun 24, 2011 3:43am [quote] (Edit: Jun 24, 2011 3:44am) |

I think there is a mistake. In the german version you speak about planting 1-4 wood on the card (so you will have 3-12 planted wood on the card?), in the english version you only put 1-4 wood on the card. | Jun 25, 2011 3:15am [quote] |

You do have a point here isch. But i think its rather a hint for the german text. The card does neither say "plant like grain" or "plant like vegetable" in german, which it would have to according to your interpretation. Also, the card would be way too strong with your interpretation. So i think the english text is very well but it should be proposed to Uwe to change the german words "pflanze an" (plant) to something else because it could be misunderstood to mean "plant like grain". |

I understand the mechanic but how is it linked to the Gin Distillery? | Jun 25, 2011 8:41pm [quote] |

most likely played in the second harvest and can turn 4w 3c 1s into 20f... pretty strong. 3w might be a little more fitting, but i like the idea! | Jun 25, 2011 11:28pm [quote] |

I'm not convinced its too strong. In your example, you pay 8 resources (1 of which is Stone) for 20 Food. I like this card's mechanic a lot. Its kind of like an Oven sort of card. And you are "baking" Wood in a sense. For each Wood you are getting 1-6 Food based on when you play this card. But you can take the Wood back. That's very interesting. |
What's interesting is you can take the Wood back. So you can take 20-4 = 16 Food in your example and use the 4 Wood for fences in Round 14. Jun 25, 2011 11:33pm [quote] |

I played this in Round 1 and placed 4 Wood on it. It gave me 4 Food for Harvests 1-5 = 20 Food. I used the Wood in Round 14 for my fences (so i didn't get 4Food in the last Harvest). My opponents and I agreed it gave me too much Food. But what would be the right amount? I had to play 3C1S4W upfront in Stage 1. Also how do you balance this card so it Stages 2+ also? |

Keith played this in Stage 4 and put 4 Wood on it. He received 8 Food in the next 2 Harvests and then used the Wood in Round 14. It looked balanced played that way. |
