Whenever you fence a new pasture that covers at least 3 farmyard spaces, you can pay 1 Reed to receive 2 Cattle. [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

boar catcher is truely a weak card, so I'm just thinking how it works with cattle catcher. | Jul 7, 2011 10:05pm [quote] |

hmm, i think this card made an very early cattle, which is already strong enough. vp is not necessary. | Jul 7, 2011 11:31pm [quote] |

That said I appreciate what you're trying to do with the card (encourage early fencing). I'd rework the card to prevent it from being abused early (two early cattle can feed you for the first 3 or 4 harvests) and drop the bonus points bit. |
I don't like having to remember which pasture it was (even if it might be easy). It's easy for other players especially to forget about which is your special pasture.Jul 8, 2011 12:02am [quote] |

"When you fence a new pasture that covers at least 4 farmyard spaces, you receive 2 Cattle." That could be used more than once, but you'd have to dedicate 8 full spaces (and 14 fences) to your pastures. |
You could possibly make it a simple occupation version of Shepard's Crook:Jul 8, 2011 12:05am [quote] |

Once druing the game, when you fence a new pasture that covers at least 2 farmyard spaces, you receive 2 cattles. At the game end if you can fill this pasture with other kind(s) of animals, you receieve 1 VP,and 2 more VP if a stable inside this filled pasture. Thank you all, I remove the bonus VP.Frankly I know additional vps for cattles is too strong to this card, so I made the strange statement.I try to change the requirement for each time fencing, I'm not sure what would happen now. |

a) i would play it every time, because if it only gives me 2 cattle it has paid off b) it will always trigger twice even with the usual 2x3 pasture layout c) it's probably too easy to get early cattle for breeding it's more expensive to play then sheperd's crook because it's an occupation. but it's much easier to trigger and the effect when it triggers is much more powerful. also, contrary to sheperd's crook it's possible to trigger it twice (very easily). |
what i don't like about this card in its current version isJul 8, 2011 1:35pm [quote] (Edit: Jul 8, 2011 1:35pm) |

I agree with Dance. You should either change to "4 farmyard spaces" or to "you can PAY 1F for a pair of cattle". If it were 2f or 3f for a pair of cattle it would be much inferior to Animal Breeder. | Jul 8, 2011 4:13pm [quote] |
