Cost=none, Vps=0, Prereq=none You receive 2 Bonus points for either Grain or Vegetables missing from your farm at the end of the game. (The fruit replaces this type of good.)(You still lose the points for the missing good.) [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

This is a nice card. I had made a variation here:Jul 11, 2011 8:32pm [quote] |

Interesting. I definitely think that between Fruit, Horse/Steed and Sun Room, Fruit is the "weakest" of the three. Doing Grain and Veggies at the same time is much easier than doing all 3 animal types and ignoring one of the two doesn't save you much effort. That said there is a lot to be said for completely free minors that might make points or save actions and I think I would usually be happy to have Fruit in my hand even if I'd rather have Horse/Steed. | Jul 12, 2011 12:29am [quote] |

We had this discussion (does boring copy equal bad design?) already with glassblowers shop in G2, with the result of more people liking it than not and the card eventually being included in the deck. But at least that was an improvement on a rather bad card, since joinery is normally bought less often than pottery. Horse/Steed is a very fine card. Just making copies of such cards seems like a waste to me. If i spend money to buy yet another agricola deck, i want as many "fresh" cards as possible, something with a new twist. Of course that gets harder with every new set released, but boring copies of existing cards, i dunno. Also, this card is way worse than horse/steed. Not collecting all 3 animal types can happen quite often, especially if you fence very late, since you dont have the potential to store them all before. There is no such problem with grain and vegetable. I dont like this card and would not want to see it included in any final deck. |
I find this card to be a very boring variation of horse/steed. Dec 15, 2012 8:23am [quote] |

be assured that there are some cards in G3 that i don't like as well. but we are here to BALANCE the cards that were chosen by vote. not to hear if you like it or not. you had your chance to vote, and you won't achieve anything good if you complain now. you're just disrupting the balancing process. from what chris wrote in the forum, you'll have a chance to vote on cards again. do it! but don't start people to post "like it" or "dislike it". it would make the balancing process even more cumbersome. edit: horse PWR is well above average. being a bit weaker is no problem. |

Fruit - ADP = 4.19 - Plays (23 / 41 = 56.1%) - Wins (1 / 23 = 4.3%) - PWR = 0.3 [1.5,0.0] [2.0,0.0] Its interesting how its PWR is nothing like Horse: horse - ADP = 4.00 - Plays (207 / 253 = 81.8%) - Wins (64 / 207 = 30.9%) - PWR = 3.6 [4.1,3.1] [4.3,2.9] Uwe doesn't like how it gives VPs for free. He suggests adding a Reed cost. Adding a Reed cost and 1 printed VP may be a good change. (It may strengthen it) However, i do like having simple free Minors in a deck. (If we added a Reed cost, ofc, we would pick a France name to match this cost and function) |
This is card is very weakMar 1, 2013 9:30pm [quote] |

but i like the simple design and don't think a reed cost plus a point would do it any good. |
of course its weaker than horse.Mar 2, 2013 3:01am [quote] |

its played ratio is o.k. it's win ratio is low. this is probly due to (1) statistic variation and (2) it's a card, that is typically played by someone who is not winning. if you had a good game, you took the time to collect a g and v. it can still be valuable for someone who is struggling. therefore i would be less worried about its PWR. | Mar 5, 2013 3:16pm [quote] |
