An early 4W1R is very valuable for building a room so if you play this in Stage 1, you are making a big sacrifice and deserve 6VPs. This is easier to play in the late game when you might have extra resources and can't build a Wooden room anymore and then this card isn't worth as many VPs. Nice balance.		 chris

With Bird Cage, you place 1 Food from your personal supply on the card. This card has nothing to do with Food. The text in this card could say "....place 1 Wood from the general supply on this card...."

But if we think Bird Cage is balanced, this could help us balance this card. If you play both in Stage 1, then Bird Cage costs 2W and 1F each Harvest for 6VP. And this card costs 4W and 1R for 6VP. So compared with Bird Cage, this card gives you 1 Food each Harvest for 2W 1R. So, if Bird Cage is balanced, this card is indeed too weak. (Chicken Coop gives 8F on next 8 round for 2W 1R).

I wouldn't remove the Reed cost. I'd either lower the cost to 3W1R, or I'd leave it as is and add 1VP. In keeping with the theme and purpose of the card, I think adding 1VP is best. However, this card may be good as is. As it turns out it could be balanced, but on this website nobody enjoys spending their first Room resources on this card and growing last instead. Everyone wants to build the first room and FG first. That may be the reason is hasn't been played yet, not because it is unbalanced.		 chris
