to be perfectly clear, its "exactly one resource" not 'all of the wood or all of the reed' etc. Seems like a fun new way to 'add resources' into the game. (my guess is the average 4er has 6-8 instances of 'Build rooms' taken per game, so compare to the free resources to something like resource seller... but the opponents will be trying to give you the stuff you don't need. glengarry

This seems like a cross between a weak carpenter and a weak Thatcher. Should this card be made stronger? chris

i like this idea alot, but it seem pretty weak now. my suggestion is that :
1. "exactly one" to "any two", (this people might keep put reed...)
2. include reno action with "exactly one". (in a 4er game, other players (x3), each build room once and reno once, so there will be 6 free resources, a occp that receive 6 free BRs with prereq is just ok.)

but note that you receive the resources only when others already perform the action, so you might not benefit much unless you perform your 2nd build action.

Great idea. Do you also put one resource on your own card when you build?

I think you could add extensions too. The card will be a strong one, but I don't see any problem if so.

yes, including your own extensions. renos would make the card too good i think. glengarry

my take on the math here is: first off, yes it includes your own builds. so you are likely going to take build rooms 3x. other players: i think the average opponent is at two builds per game. so thats 7 resources, maybe 6, maybe 8. if it gets playtested and ppl still think it's weak, i think it might be made 'one resource per room built'... glengarry

hmm, can you immediately use the building resources that is just put onto this card?
For example can I double build with 10w 3r?
or, can I build 1 room 2 stables with 8w 2r?

i would have to rule: no. you build all rooms/stables at once, and the material doesnt reach the card until after you've made the build. glengarry

hmm, after thinking about it a bit, I think it should be
1. no to rooms, because you can only "build rooms" once, same as you only get discount once from hedge keeper fencing.
also we want to prevent some 1w = 13 rooms combo.
2. yes to stables, as it always applies to "and/or" actions in Agricola. You are free to decide the order and you have time to do things in between.
