No, you could definitely use those spaces 6 times and get 6 food. Or even 9 times for 9 food might happen every once in a while. But still this is very weak.		 mattthelesser

No.
Over 100 cards say "place" without specifying "general supply. It is understood that the items come from the general supply unless specified.
