1 clay.

The error corrected was a translation error, the german text also just says "instead of wood".
It is my understanding, that this card combos with other cards that let you build stables without the "build stables" action space. In those cases the cost is sometimes not 2 wood. Therefor i think it is correct to not write "instead of 2 wood".

When you build your last stable, you receive 3 food instead of 1. 		zlorfik
