Can you trigger this card more than once, if you have 6 or 8 field tiles? kolorad

Good question, my initial guess is yes but the wording is ambiguous. We did not get to playtest this card, so I'm not sure anyone really knows... lumin

Wording seems to indicate one time.
"This stable", "Once you have"
It's not 100% clear, and at first glance I'd be inclined to say twice is possible as well, but I think no.
If someone played it either way in a game I was in, I'd allow either interpretation.

It says "Once" pretty clearly.
I would not allow it to activate more than once.

"Once" is used as a conjunction here, which to me means the same as "After" - a different definition than "use the effect once", where it is an adverb. So I don't think that single word clears things up. "This stable" refers to "a stable in the center of the 2x2." And if we only had the first sentence for this card, there is ambiguity.

In a few online dictionaries, "once" as a conjunction has no implication of one-time.

Sorry to be a grammar guy here, but while there are certainly hints that this is a one-time card (and I want it to be,) I don't see it in a literal reading.

This unsatisfying answer came in on BGG:

Lumin, yes, this is not the standard definition of "once" or "as soon as". It is what we defined for revised Agricola. In revised Agricola, "once" can only trigger, well, once.

Is the Farm Hand stable treated like any other room when your number of family members exceeds the number of rooms in your home? In other words, if you somehow have one more family member than rooms, does the extra person migrate to the Farm Hand's stable, or is the stable unoccupied for the next FG?

This becomes an issue when Farm Hand is used for your 4th/5th family member after your 3rd/4th person was obtained via a FG without a room action - using a card like Lover or Hayloft Barn, for example.

I may be misunderstanding the question, but:
The Farm Hand "room for a person" is indeed treated like any other "room for a person".
If you have more (or the same number of) family members than "room for people", you may not take the "Family Growth with room" action.

If you have rooms for 4 family members, and use a FG w/o action to obtain your 4th, you no longer have an available room... you cannot use Farm Hand.
