Once each round, you may skip placing your first Family member and receive 1 animal. You must pay 1 Food if you receive a Cattle. (You place the person later. You may only do this if every player has at least 1 person still to place.) [View playtest games] [View all dealt games] |

in fact, i liked that idea (re admirer drawback) so much, i made another card on it. | Sep 7, 2010 3:16pm [quote] |

As for your card, I think 2f for one cattle is not too cheap. Make it 2f. |
Very well, I didn't want to use the skipping mechanism anyway. Sep 7, 2010 4:33pm [quote] |

this card can sort of cripple you. I tried to use this with Hala's FODDER and I wound up progressing too slowly. | Sep 8, 2010 9:16pm [quote] |

my fear is that it's pretty crippling, yes, but i've been trying to explore cards w/ drawbacks... as per Ken's feedback, I made the food costs 'better' (actually totally in line with the 5er card). it seems to me like there are a few drafts that could 'take the hit' of the skipped turn... particularly the 'manufacturer' game or any plan that involves early sowing (sleeping corner!) | Sep 9, 2010 9:08am [quote] |

The drawback is somewhere between Robber and Late Sleeper. I guess the payoff is too, though it could be pretty powerful with some sort of silly early-animals combo. | Sep 9, 2010 1:51pm [quote] |

Does all these skip first action thing automatically executed when you have Late Sleeper? |
Question :Sep 9, 2010 3:37pm [quote] |
|
I was looking through the whole Late Sleeper thread because of its interaction with Neutrality from O deck and someone brought up the same ruling (you cant do both) but there was no real discussion. |
I would rule that you could EITHER skip your first opportunity to activate this card OR skip your first (and further) opportunity to activate Late Sleeper. But not both.Sep 10, 2010 9:55am [quote] |

hmm, you can only play this when you are the SP? | Sep 11, 2010 1:42am [quote] |

It refers to your first peep, but it doesnt matter if that is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th peep in the round. |
No. It says "YOUR first opportunity", not "THE first opportunity".Sep 11, 2010 2:40am [quote] |
