Assistant Tiller would definitely combo, otherwise the card would say you get 2f when you go here instead of specifying you can take a "Day Laborer" action. (It would say something like "...you can use this action space to get 2 food, build a room, and play an improvement").

It's clearly worded to combo with cards that trigger on those 3 specific action spaces.		 nwoll
